LYME, N.H. -- Sophomore Bo Underhill just missed a second top-10 performance in what's been a terrific rookie season, finishing in a tie for 11th out of 69 alpine skiers in the slalom Friday at Dartmouth. 

Underhill (Newbury, N.H.) raced down the hill at the Dartmouth Skiway in a two-run combined time of 1:43.28. After an opening run of 54.37, he chopped nearly six seconds off his time with a second run of 48.91, earning 24 NCAA points. 

Friday's action was technically a make-up date for the UVM Carnival slalom, which was canceled due to weather last week. The skiers got a chance to pick up NCAA points with a top-30 performance but their times did not factor in to any carnival scoring. No other Bobcats placed in the top 30 on Friday.

The Dartmouth GS races have been canceled so the Bobcats will compete in the slalom again on Saturday. This time, it will count for carnival points. How Bates does in Saturday's slalom, combined with the Nordic performances in the classic and freestyle races, will determine their overall placement in the final Dartmouth Carnival team results. Saturday's slalom races get underway at 9am.
