BOSTON -- Senior captain
Elise Lambert set a new personal record in the 800 meters, highlighting the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University Friday for the Bates women's track and field team.
Lambert (Amherst, N.H.) took 12th place overall out of 74 runners in the 800, only finishing behind competitors from Division I schools. Her time of 2:13.64 is .05 seconds faster than her previous career-best of 2:13.69. Lambert currently ranks fourth on Bates' all-time performance list in the event.
Bates only sent three runners to BU for the meet, with senior captains
Rebecca Willis (West Newbury, Mass.) and
Amanda Kaufman (Somers, Conn.) competing in the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash. Kaufman placed 13th out of 24 runners in the hurdles in 9.38 seconds with Willis checking in at 9.85 seconds.
They both finished with the exact same time in the 200 meters, at 27.40 seconds.
The Bobcats will send a bigger contingent to the USM Invitational this Sunday at 12pm.
