CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Bates women's track and field team finished second behind host MIT and ahead of Southern Maine in a season opening tri-meet Saturday, winning five events along the way. The Bobcats scored 52 points on the afternoon. 

Senior captain Elise Lambert (Amherst, N.H.) won the 1,000 meters in a personal record time of 3:02.40. The Bobcats swept the top four spots in the mile run, with junior Jordan Wilson (Medfield, Mass.) winning the race in 5:20.49. Junior Ilana Zeilinger (Washington, D.C.) took home first place in the 3,000 meters with a personal record time of 10:54.03 as Bates took the top six spots in the event. Senior captain Amanda Kaufman (Somers, Conn.) prevailed in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.19 seconds.

Senior captain Emily-Claire Duffy (Belmont, Mass.), sophomore Erin Hanlon (Rowley, Mass.), senior Mary Corcoran (Brookline, Mass.) and Lambert teamed up to win the 4x400 relay in 4:17.87. 

Sophomore Chrissy Aman (Hanover, N.H.) took second in the 600 meters in the first indoor race of her collegiate career, crossing the finish line in 1:43.57. Junior Lily D'Addario (Locust Valley, N.Y.) finished third in the first race of her collegiate career -- the 60 meter dash -- in 8.37 seconds.

The Bobcats host the Bates Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Merrill Gymnasium. Friday is the multi events starting at 4pm while Saturday will be the bulk of the meet, starting at 11am. Fans can watch the Bates Invitational on the Northeast Sports Network.
