Peter Koenigsbauer both picked up wins but the No. 25 nationally ranked Bates men's squash team fell 7-2 at No. 18 Tufts Friday night.
Bates (1-4) lost three matches in five games to the Jumbos (4-1) in a tight contest between the two NESCAC foes. Ali (Plano, Texas) won his third match of the year, rallying from down two games to one to prevail 3-2 (3-11, 11-6, 4-11, 11-5, 11-9) over Dillon O'Shea at the No. 6 position. Ali has won three of his five matches so far this season.
Koenigsbauer (Seattle, Wash.) won a tight third game before dominating the fourth game to win his match 3-1 (11-9, 5-11, 13-11, 11-1) over Sanjeev Jeyabalan at the No. 4 position.

Alec Spiro (Portland, Ore.), at No. 2, first-year
Harris Ramlee (Malaysia) at No. 3 and junior
Jairaj Singh (Jaipur, India) at No. 7 all took their opponents to the maximum five games in narrow defeats.
The Bobcats return to action Saturday at 6:30pm when they host No. 4 nationally ranked Trinity at the Bates College Squash Center.
