Bates secured a victory at No. 2 and topped Amherst at Nos. 4-9 to clinch the victory. Sophomore Jesper Phillips earned an 11-8, 11-7, 11-4 victory over Adam Lichtmacher at No. 2. Senior Graham Bonnell battled his Amherst opposition, Robinson Armour, to five games before falling at the No. 1 spot (12-10, 11-13, 3-11, 11-6, 11-6).

At No. 4, senior Mahmoud Yousry topped Terrence Wang (11-7, 11-7, 11-5) and senior Garon Rothenberg defeated Robert Parker at the No. 5 spot (11-9, 11-5, 11-7). First-year Jonathan Walker won his first two games 11-9, 11-8 over Nathaniel Mosse. Mosse came out in the next two 11-8, 11-9, but Walker rallied to secure the victory at No. 6 with an 11-6 win in game five. At No. 7 senior Benni McComish defeated Pavan Nagaraj (11-4, 11-9, 11-5) and sophomore Peter Koenigsbauer cruised to a victory over Reginald Brewster (11-9, 11-3, 11-5) at No. 8. At the No. 9 position, first-year Sultan Hashmi improved to 9-1 this season with a five-game win over Andrew Leung (7-11, 11-6, 11-6, 7-11, 11-8).

The Bobcats are back in action on Wednesday, Jan. 22, when they host Colby at 6 p.m.
