No. 18 men's squash wins 9-0 over No. 30 Connecticut College in home opener

LEWISTON, Maine -- The No. 18 nationally ranked Bates men's squash team turned in its second consecutive outstanding performance with a 9-0 victory over No. 30 Connecticut College Saturday afternoon at the Bates Squash Center.

The Bobcats (2-0) used the same lineup they used to beat Bowdoin 9-0 on Friday in their victory over the Camels (0-1) on Saturday.

Sophomore Mahmoud Yousry (Cairo, Egypt) rallied from a game down to beat Alex Snape by a count of 3-1 (12-14, 11-5, 11-4, 11-5) at the No. 1 position. Fellow sophomore Graham Bonnell (Southport, Conn.) had no trouble at the No. 2 position, earning a 3-0 (11-4, 11-1, 11-1) sweep of Daniel Reisman.

First-year Omar Attia (Cairo, Egypt) continues to impress playing high up the ladder at the No. 3 position. He beat the Camels' Michael Rodriguez by a count of 3-1 (11-5, 8-11, 11-8, 11-3) on Saturday.

The Bobcats have two captains this year, and so far senior Anirudh Nambiar (Pune, India) and junior McLeod Abbott (Bronxville, N.Y.) look comfortable at the No. 4 and 5 positions respectively. Nambiar defeated John Dunham 3-0 (14-12, 11-6, 11-9) and Abbott swept Scott Brown 3-0 (11-6, 11-4, 11-6) to pick up a second straight win as well.

Sophomores Benni McComish (Williamstown, Mass.) and Garon Rothenberg (Brooklyn, N.Y.) earned 3-0 sweeps at the No. 6 and 7 positions against the Camels. Meanwhile, first-years Robby Dewey (New Canaan, Conn.) and Dylan Muldoon (Devonshire, Bermuda) continue to impress, with Dewey winning 3-1 (9-11, 11-7, 11-6, 11-5) at the No. 8 position and Muldoon taking down Louis Feingold 3-0 (11-2, 11-3, 11-0) at the No. 9 position.

The Bobcats are back in action on December 2 when they visit Vassar for a pair of matches, one against Vassar and the other against Haverford.
