WAVERLY, Iowa -- Bates junior Allison Hill ran the sixth-fastest time in a field of 20 athletes in the 100-meter hurdles trials on Friday at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, advancing to Saturday's finals.

Hill's (Brunswick, Maine) hometown friend and teammate, senior Alexis Dickinson (Brunswick, Maine), finished her outstanding career on Friday in the 100-meter dash trials, missing Saturday's finals and placing 22nd with a time of 12.45 seconds.

Despite running into a headwind, Hill ran the second-fastest time of her career at 14.33 seconds, placing second in the second of three trial heats. She is now in position to score team points and gain her second career All-America honor on Saturday.

A pack right behind Hill filled out Saturday's finals field, with seventh-place Katherine Cavanaugh seventh at 14.34 seconds and Wisconsin-La Crosse's Claire Gordee eighth at 14.38. Tufts senior Marilyn Allen, who edged Hill for the NESCAC 100-meter hurdle title earlier this season, was the first hurdler to be left out of the finals at 14.39 seconds.

The 100-meter hurdle finals are scheduled for 2pm Central time on Saturday. Bates sophomore Sally Ceesay (Bronx, N.Y.) will compete in the triple jump starting at 11:30am Central.

The one-time All-American in the indoor distance medley relay made her third career NCAA Championship appearance and her first as an individual.
