WELLESLEY, Mass. -- Senior Hannah Jeffrey made 13 saves and held Wellesley College to three goals as the Bates College women's lacrosse team notched an 11-3 non-conference victory over the host Blue on Wednesday.

Bates (2-0) received four goals from All-America senior attacker Moriah Greenstein (Millerton, N.Y.), who also tallied an assist to set Bates' career record. Bates also got three goals apiece from sophomore midfielders Allison Dewey (Vergennes, Vt.) and Camille Belletete (Jaffrey, N.H.), career-highs for both players. Dewey also had an assist and tied Belletete with a team-high three draw controls.

Jeffrey (Greenwich, Conn.), a two-time All-American and 2015 IWLCA Division III Goalkeeper of the Year, recorded her highest single-game save percentage (.813) since Feb. 20, 2014 at Colorado College (.833).

Belletete, who scored six goals as a first-year player, opened the game with back-to-back unassisted scores at the 28:31 and 26:13 marks of the first half. After a scoring drought of more than 17 minutes, Greenstein scored unassisted, followed less than a minute later by Dewey's first goal, on an assist by junior Drew Barry (Portland, Maine), for a 4-0 Bates lead with 7:31 remaining in the half.

Dacia Persky got Wellesley (0-1) on the scoreboard 23 minutes in with an assist by Lena Engbretson. But Bates outscored Wellesley 3-0 over the last six minutes of the half for a 7-1 lead. Dewey, Greenstein and Belletete all scored unassisted, with Dewey and Belletete scoring on free-position shots.

Wellesley closed the gap to 7-2 five minutes into the second period, with Nikki Sharkin converting a free-position attempt. Senior Emma Brinkman (Rye, N.Y.) answered three minutes later to bump the lead back to six.

Greenstein made it 9-2 at the 16:37 mark of the second half, and 20 seconds later she got the record-breaking assist as Dewey completed her first hat trick, after Dewey had secured the draw control. Dewey returned the favor with 9:34 to go, assisting Greenstein on Bates' final goal of the game.

Greenstein's assist moved her out of a tie with Joan O'Neill '12 for the most in team history, with 69.

Bates plays both its home and NESCAC opener on Saturday against Wesleyan, starting at 12pm.
