BRISTOL, R.I. -- Senior Moriah Greenstein scored three goals and assisted on three others as the No. 16 nationally ranked Bates women's lacrosse team continued on its best pace since 2001 with a 13-4 victory at Roger Williams University.

Bates' victory raised the visiting Bobcats' record to 6-0 and represented the first loss of the season for the host Hawks (3-1). The Bobcats haven't allowed more than seven goals since their season opener at Sewanee, with winning scores including 12-0 over Wesleyan and 11-3 over Wellesley.

Senior Alex Briody (North Kingstown, R.I.) also scored three times, while sophomore Allison Dewey (Vergennes, Vt.) collected a whopping 10 draw controls, caused two turnovers and scored a pair of goals for Bates.

Also scoring multiple points for the Bobcats were junior Kaileigh Maguire (Sudbury, Mass.) with a goal and two assists; sophomore Camille Belletete (Jaffrey, N.H.) with two goals, first-year Sydney Howard (Ashland, Mass.) with a goal and an assist and junior Sydney Cowles (Wayne, Pa.) with two assists.

Roger Williams tied the game at 1-1 with 23:35 to go in the first half, following Dewey's game-opening goal on a Greenstein assist.

Bates won the ensuing draw and scored immediately, with Maguire assisting Belletete on her sixth goal of the season, and the Bobcats never looked back. Bates went on to run off eight straight goals, not allowing the Hawks to score again until fewer than 20 minutes remained in the game.

Brinkman and Belletete scored at the 21:18 and 20:05 marks of the first half and Greenstein added her first goal on Howard's assist to make it 5-1 with 16:54 to go in the period. In the final minute of the half, Bates padded its lead to six, as Greenstein assisted Briody with 49 seconds left and then converted a free-position shot with eight seconds to go.

Led by Dewey, Bates controlled 15 of 19 draws in the game and had a 29-12 advantage in shots attempted. The Bobcats were credited with 26 shots on goal, keeping Hawks goalie Kimberly Bolk busy with 13 saves, including eight in the second half.

Greenstein has 22 goals and 17 assists through six games, and now has 10 more assists than any other player in program history.

Bates senior goalie Hannah Jeffrey (Greenwich, Conn.) made five saves in the win.

Bates next plays at third-ranked Trinity in a NESCAC game Saturday at noon.
