BOSTON -- A select group of athletes from the Bates women's track and field team competed Friday at Boston University's John Thomas Terrier Classic, and came away with some personal-record times on BU's banked track.
Junior Allison Hill (Brunswick, Maine) ran a career-best 26.03-second 200-meter dash, taking 0.31 seconds off of her career-best time and jumping from eighth place on Bates' all-time performance list into fifth place. Senior captain Alexis Dickinson (Brunswick, Maine) ran the 200 in 26.74 seconds.
Junior Jessica Wilson (Cumberland, Maine) finished the mile in 5:07.45, jumping into eighth place on Bates' all-time performance list in the event. Wilson was second in her heat and placed 42nd out of 165 runner overall.
Junior Claire Markonic (Millerton, N.Y.) was 92nd out of 142 in the 400 meters in a time of 1:00.14, 0.69 shy of her career-best.
First-year Ayden Eickhoff (Corvallis, Mont.) ran a 3:03.15 time in the 1,000 meters, 46th out of 94 competitors and 0.23 seconds out of a spot in Bates' all-time top 10 list.
First-year Sarah Rothmann (Andover, Mass.) ran the 800 meters in 2:22.11, 76th out of 138 women.
Bates competes Saturday at the USM Invitational at 2pm.
