Bates held advantages in points in the paint (32-18), points off turnovers (24-10), and second-chance points (21-7) while out-rebounding UMF, 55-35.

With the score tied at 19-19 midway through the first half, Boornazian scored the game's next eight points on a pair of 3-pointers and a layup to give the Bobcats a 27-19 lead with 6:17 left in the opening half. The Beavers remained within eight points at 32-24 before Bates closed the half with a 9-2 run to take a 41-26 edge into the break with Philpott converting on a pair of triples and Delpeche dunking during the streak.

Farmington pulled within 52-40 after a Johnson layup with 11 minutes remaining in the game, but Bates responded with a 10-0 run over the next two and a half minutes to capture a 62-40 advantage with 8:36 to play. Selmon scored five points and Delpeche threw down his second dunk as part of that stretch. The Bobcats maintained at least an 18-point cushion for the remainder of the game.
