LEWISTON, Maine -- Sophomore Molly Wagner (Longmeadow, Mass.) scored an unassisted goal with 1:11 left in regulation to lift Bates College over Williams College 10-9 in a NESCAC women's lacrosse game on Saturday.

Wagner's goal completed a comeback from being down 9-7 with under 15 minutes left, as Bates (5-5, 1-5 NESCAC) earned its first NESCAC win of the season and snapped a four-game losing streak.

Junior Katherine Farmer (Madison, Conn.) closed the gap to 9-8 on an assist from sophomore Rachel Harmeling (North Reading, Mass.) with 14:25 left in the game, and sophomore Sarah Peters' (Acton, Mass.) free-position goal with 3:56 left tied the game at 9.

Williams dropped to 7-4, 3-4 in NESCAC play.

Wagner held the ball at the top of the circle for several seconds before bearing left past her defender, then flipping her shot past the far side of Williams goalkeeper Meghan Dwyer (Norwell, Mass.). It was Wagner's third goal of the game.

Farmer added two goals and one assist, while both Harmeling and senior Shannon Tully (Needham, Mass.) had one goal and one assist. Also scoring for Bates were senior Sonija Parson (Washington, D.C.), first-year Caroline Thomas (Barrington, R.I.) and Peters.

Junior Kaylan Tildsley (Andover, Mass.) scored a game-high four goals for the Ephs, and added one assist. First-year Britt Spackman (Newton, Mass.) scored twice and assisted on two more goals. Also scoring for Williams were sophomore Sarah duPont (Easton, Md.), first-year Meighan McGowan (Greenwich, Conn.) and senior Rachel Barr (Hanover, N.H.).

Dwyer made 13 saves for Williams, while sophomore Katie Nickerson (Windham, N.H.) made 11 saves for Bates.

Bates hosts Amherst College Sunday at 12 p.m.
