Sommer started the week on Saturday by winning the 50-yard freestyle in 21.95 seconds against Dartmouth. Then he helped the 200-yard freestyle relay team close the meet with a victory and a pool record of 1:24.46.

On Sunday, Sommer and the 200-yard freestyle relay team had to win their race to clinch the meet for Bates over Middlebury. And they did exactly that, winning in 1:24.76.

Sommer also won the 100-yard breaststroke (58.47) and the 200-yard breaststroke (2:09.58) against the Panthers.
