First-year goalkeeper Bruce David (Pittsburgh, Pa.) earned the win in his first collegiate start for the Bobcats between the pipes against NESCAC rival Bowdoin. He tallied eight saves on the afternoon, four of which came after Bates took the 1-0 lead. David's stellar play helped Bates men's soccer beat the Polar Bears for the first time since 1999.

He followed that up with three saves at national powerhouse Tufts and six saves in a 2-1 win over Trinity, with the only Bantam goal coming on a penalty kick.
