Houde (Meriden, N.H.) won the 1,650-yard freestyle by a 13-second margin in 17:53.85 before taking the 500 free by an 8.24-second difference, in 5:13.58. "Nell is showing off her ability to be a possible NESCAC top 8 swimmer at several different distances," said head coach Peter Casares. Her performance helped Bates sweep Middlebury in a dual meet on Sunday.
