Senior midfielder Bridget Meedzan scored a goal in Bates’ 2-1 win at Connecticut College on Saturday and had a hand in one of the team’s goals at Southern Maine on Oct. 3 to earn Bobcat of the Week accolades for the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6.

A native of Ipswich, Mass., Meedzan knotted the game at 1-1 against the Camels with a goal in the 34^th minute beating the goalie one-on-one less than 48 hours after receiving a cut to the head, which required stitches, in the team’s win over USM.

Meedzan’s tally against Conn. College helped the Bobcats notch their first NESCAC win of the season and extend their winning streak to two games. In the team’s previous contest, Meedzan assisted in keeping the ball in front of the cage – despite taking a hit above the eye – which allowed Caroline Falcone to score and put the team up 3-1 against the Huskies.

The field hockey team returns to action in a home contest against Babson on Sunday at 1 p.m.
