Junior Elise Lambert became the fourth-fastest athlete to run 800 meters in Bates women's track and field team's history, topping the highlights for the Bobcats Saturday in their second tri-meet with Bowdoin and Colby. 

Wearing a mask and racing almost unopposed against two runners who trailed far behind her, Lambert (Amherst, N.H.) finished the 800 in 2:14.12, trimming 0.30 seconds off of her previous best time and moving her from sixth place into fourth on Bates' all-time performance list in the event. The time would rank Lambert 17th in Division III entering the weekend.
