Senior captain Anirudh Nambiar (Pune, India) went 2-0 on the week at the No. 5 position for the Bates men's squash team. Nambiar swept Hamilton's Tristan Chaix 3-0 (12-10, 11-8, 11-6) in the Bobcats' 8-1 win in the NESCAC quarterfinals Saturday morning.

Then he followed that up with a clutch 3-2 (10-12, 11-13, 12-10, 11-6, 11-8) victory over Williams College's Anand Butler in the Bobcats' 6-3 win Saturday afternoon in the semifinals.

Nambiar fell behind by two games, battled through an injury to win game three 12-10, and finished off the victory with two more wins after that. Nambiar's gutsy performance helped the Bobcats advance to the NESCAC Championships final for the third straight year.

With the pair of wins, Nambiar improves his record to 11-3 on the season.
