WATERVILLE, Maine -- Bates sophomore
Ryan Glaser broke the Indoor Competition Center's facility record in the 35-pound weight throw Saturday at the Mules Tune-up, hosted by Colby College.
Meet Highlights
- With Bates alumnus and previous facility record-holder Jacob Goff '24 in attendance, Glaser (Rockport, Maine) unleashed a personal-record throw of 58-5.25 (17.81m) on his final attempt of the day in the 35-pound weight. His winning toss broke Goff's facility record and is an automatic qualifying throw for New Englands. Glaser currently ranks 35th in the country in the event.
- Junior Evan Berthiaume (East Greenwich, R.I.) won the 60-meter dash in a personal-record time of 7.05 seconds, a provisional qualifying time for New Englands and good for fifth on the Bates all-time performance list.
- Sophomore Nick Nicolazzo (Wellesley, Mass.) won the triple jump with an indoor personal-record leap of 44-3.25 (13.49m), good for 10th on the Bates all-time performance list and is also a provisional qualifying mark for New Englands. He also placed third in the long jump with a mark of 21-3.5 (6.49m), a provisional qualifier for New Englands as well.
- First-year Briggs Catino (Rye, N.H.) won the 400 meters in a personal-record time of 52.15 seconds, a provisional qualifying time for New Englands.
- First-year Winslow Bouverat (Petaluma, Calif.) won her section and took third overall in the 400 meters with a personal-record time of 54.05 seconds.
- Junior Liam Thomson (Arlington, Va.) won his section and placed eighth overall in the 3,000 meters in a personal-record time of 9:04.52.
- Sophomore Andrew Batista (Roselle Park, N.J.) took fifth in the pole vault with a personal-record clearance of 12-8.75 (3.88m).
The Bobcats are back in action next weekend at the New England Division III Indoor Championships, with the heptathlon taking place Friday and Saturday at Tufts University, and the majority of the meet happening Sunday at the TRACK at new balance in Boston.
