Somridhivej (South Windsor, Conn.) played a key role in helping the men's swimming and diving team capture their second straight CBB Championship, with three record-breaking performances.
He led a 1-2-3-4 Bates finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with his winning time of 53.20 seconds. His opening 50-yard time of 24.86 seconds breaks his own Bates record.
Somridhivej also broke his own school record in the 200-yard breaststroke with his winning time of 1:59.99, leading a 1-2 Bates finish in the event.
He helped get the meet started on the right foot as a member of the victorious 200-yard medley relay, as the Bobcats won the race in 1:27.26, a mark that ranks third in all of NCAA Division III this season. Then he capped off the meet in style by leading off the 200-yard freestyle relay, as Bates broke the school record and won the event with their time of 1:20.02.
The No. 24 nationally ranked Bates men's swimming and diving team is back in action Feb. 19-22 when they head to Waterville, Maine for the NESCAC Championships.
