WATERVILLE, Maine – Bates women's soccer traveled to Colby Tuesday night and battled the Mules to a 1-1 draw in their regular season finale.
The Bobcats and Mules played to a scoreless first half before first-year
Whitney Ladich (Scottsdale, Ariz.) found the back of the net in the 61st minute, scoring off a corner kick to give Bates the lead. Ladich's ninth goal of the season brings her team-leading total to 20 points.
Colby responded just four minutes later, finding the equalizer to even the score at 1-1.
Bates senior goalkeeper
Sydney Litney (Schaumburg, Ill.) turned in an outstanding performance, recording 13 saves, the most in her career. It was the most saves by a Bates women's soccer goalkeeper since Sarah McCarthy '18 recorded 17 saves against Wesleyan in 2017.
The Bobcats now await Wednesday's matchup between Connecticut College and Wesleyan to determine their postseason fate. Bates will earn the No. 8 seed in the NESCAC Tournament with a Connecticut College tie or victory.
