LEWISTON, Maine — Bates College women's basketball continued its dominant play at Alumni Gym on Wednesday night, cruising to a 90–48 win over the University of Maine at Farmington to improve to 8–1 at home this season (15-2 overall).
The No. 14-ranked Bobcats placed 12 players in the scoring column and snapped the Beavers' seven-game winning streak as the Bates garnered 90 or more points for the second time this season (98–50 at Husson, Nov. 18).
The victors set the tone early, opening the game with a 31-point first quarter and never looking back. Bates led 57–24 at halftime and stretched the margin to as many as 45 points in the second half.
Lily Brown led all scorers with 16 points off the bench, while
Sarah Hughes finished with 12 of her own.
Claire Gaetani chipped in 11 points and
Elsa Daulerio followed with a 10-point showing in limited action.
Ava James knocked down three triples on her way to nine points.
Angel Huntsman dished a career-high five assists in the win.
Bates returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Standish, Maine for a 1:00 p.m. non-conference showdown at Saint Joseph's College
