HARTFORD, CONN. – Trinity College scored once in each half to secure a 2-0 conference victory over the Bates women's soccer team on Saturday morning.
Shea O'Neill struck just 48 seconds into the match to give the Bantams (2-0, 1-0 NESCAC) an early lead, and Iva Carton doubled the advantage in the 64th minute (63:15).
Trinity controlled much of the action, outshooting Bates 17-4, including an 11-2 edge on target. Bantam goalkeeper Lily Bracken earned the shutout with two saves. For the Bobcats, junior
Sydney Litney (Schaumburg, Ill.) and first-year
Brady Jacobson (Weston, Mass.) split time in net, recording two and seven saves respectively.
Bates (1-1, 0-1 NESCAC) returns home on Wednesday for their Russell Street Field debut this season, hosting Thomas College in non-conference play at 7 p.m.
