MEDFORD, Mass. --The Bates College volleyball team pushed Tufts in four sets Friday night but fell 3–1 (25–23, 16–25, 25–15, 25–19) in NESCAC play at Cousens Gym.
Sofia Castiglioni led the Bobcats (6–3, 1–2 NESCAC) with a season-high 13 kills on a .500 hitting percentage, along with eight blocks.
Malina Young and
Kate Norry chipped in seven kills apiece while Young also settled nine digs in the effort.
Setter
Lauren Croom dished out 30 assists and added seven digs.
Ellie Asada paced Bates with 15 digs.
Tufts (10–1, 3–0 NESCAC) was led by Emma Heckman's 16 kills and Maiwenn Kamdje's 12. Clare Castor (11 kills, 12 digs) and Rianna Liu (28 assists, 10 digs) each authored double-doubles for the Jumbos.
Bates remains on the road for its next action, a Saturday non-conference visit to the University of New England. The Nor'Easters outlasted the Bobcats in a five-set thriller three weeks ago (Sept. 6) in Alumni Gym. First serve is set for 5:30 p.m.
