BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Bates College women's soccer team battled back with goals in both halves to earn a 2-2 draw against the University of New England on Tuesday evening. The Bobcats move to 3-1-2 on the season, while the Nor'easters settle at 6-2-1 after recording their first tie of the year.
UNE opened the scoring 17 minutes in (16:23), but Bates answered in the 30th minute (29:57) when junior
Ruby Hill buried a shot into the lower right corner for her second goal of the season. Sophomore
Gywn Jamison provided the assist.
The Nor'easters regained the lead just five minutes later, carrying a 2-1 advantage into halftime. The Bobcats continued to press in the second half, and their persistence paid off in the 85th minute (84:13). This time Jamison delivered the equalizer, firing a high shot into the left side of the net to level the score at 2-2.
Bates narrowly outshot UNE 17-15, with the Bobcats placing seven shots on goal compared to the Nor'easters' eight. In net, junior

Brady Jacobson split time. Litney tallied four saves, while Jacobson added two.
The Bobcats return to NESCAC play on Saturday with a noon matchup on the road at No. 22 nationally ranked Amherst.
