CLINTON, N.Y. – Less than 24 hours after Friday's setback at Amherst, Bates College volleyball bounced back in a big way Saturday with a 3-1 (25-21, 25-19, 23-25, 25-18) NESCAC victory at Hamilton.
The Bobcats demonstrated a balanced attack on offense with a trio of double-digit kill performances, including a new career-high of 19 for first-year
Jaime Bartley-Cohen.
Anaïs Reneaum (So.) and
Sofia Castiglioni (Jr.) added 14 and 10 kills, respectively, with each posting a hitting percentage of .400. Bates as a team hit .282 in the triumph.
Lauren Croom (So.) recorded her first-career double-double with season-highs in assists (49) and digs (15).
Ellie Asada (Sr.) topped all players with 25 digs.
Isabel Bettencourt (Jr.) enjoyed her second-straight match with 11 digs while
Katie Patrinos settled 10 of her own. Bettencourt also floored three aces for the garnet and white.
Hamilton (3-5, 0-2 NESCAC) was led by Ayzlinn Trefren with a double-double showing of 15 kills and 15 digs.
Bates returns to the road on Friday with a 6:00 p.m. contest scheduled at NESCAC-foe, Tufts University.
