LEWISTON, Maine -- Six Bobcats representing three different programs have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Men's At-Large Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday.
Connor Hartman,
Drew McClutchy,
Teddy Rosen, and
Miles Schmidt of men's lacrosse;
Nic Hotermans from alpine skiing; and
Wyatt Teaford of Nordic skiing have each earned recognition on this elite list.
Hartman, a midfielder from Hingham, Mass., appeared in all 16 contests for the Bobcats, establishing new career-highs with 30 goals, 11 assists, and 41 points. The junior economics major, who has been named to the NESCAC Spring All-Academic team two years straight, owns a grade-point average of 3.71.
McClutchy owns an impressive 3.97 GPA as an economics and Chinese double major. A long-stick midfielder from Farmington, Conn., Drew played in all 16 games for the garnet-and-white, making 14 starts. The NESCAC All-Academic selection finished the year with 22 groundballs.
Rosen, a sophomore politics major from New Canaan, Conn., makes his All-District® debut with a 3.85 grade-point average. The defender, who also made his first NESCAC All-Academic team this spring, made 14 appearances (12 starts) for Bates. Teddy contributed 21 grounders and 13 caused turnovers.
Schmidt, hailing from Seattle, Wash., lands on this list with a 3.57 GPA as an economics major. A sophomore face-off specialist and NESCAC All-Academic pick, Miles tied for third in the NESCAC with 210 face-off wins while recording a stellar .638 face-off percentage. The Bobcats led the conference with a team mark of .637.
Hotermans, who hails from Weston, Mass., maintained a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average as a neuroscience major. The senior, a two-time NESCAC Spring All-Academic Team selection and a 2025 Bates Senior Scholar, competed for Belgium at the 2025 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, qualifying for the championship slalom race.
Teaford earns his spot with a 3.83 GPA as a politics major. A sophomore from Peru, Vt., the team captain also landed his first NESCAC All-Academic nod this past winter.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes At-Large honorees in five divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, and the College Division.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure. The College Division Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) governance structure.
