Seven Bobcats Honored on College Sports Communicators Men's & Women's Tennis Academic All-District® Teams

LEWISTON, Maine -- Seven Bobcats have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Men's and Women's Tennis Academic All-District® Teams, announced Tuesday.  Ben Adey, Phillippe Kosyagin, and Theo Sardain of the men's squad, and Lizzie Frekko, Elise Hepburn,  Isabella Saul, Iris Westmoreland of the women's team, have each earned recognition on this elite list.

Adey, a senior economics major and team captain, returns to the All-District® Team for the second time with a cumulative grade-point average of 3.84. A three-time ITA scholar-athlete selection, the native of nearby Falmouth, Maine recorded five singles victories and a pair of doubles wins during the spring season for the Bobcats. Adey's signature victory of the season came on March 9 with a No. 4 singles win vs. No. 3 nationally-ranked Tufts. 

Kosyagin, makes his All-District® debut as the sophomore sports a team-best 3.87 GPA. Hailing from Las Vegas, Nev., the economics and engineer dual major was named to the 2025 All-NESCAC Second Team for doubles (with Sardain) after contributing to nine such victories on the year. The ITA Scholar-Athlete also secured three wins in singles action.  

The aforementioned Sardain, a junior physics major and team captain hailing from Dedham, Mass., lands on this list with a grade-point average of 3.65. An ITA scholar-athlete, and now a two-time All-NESCAC Second Team selection, Sardain teamed for eight doubles triumphs for the Bobcats, to go along with a pair of singles wins.

Frekko makes a second appearance on the Academic All-District® Team, sporting a 3.85 cumulative GPA as a politics major (religious studies minor). The senior ITA Scholar-Athlete played a role in seven doubles wins for the Bobcats while recording four singles triumphs of her own. A team captain, Lizzie hails from Lake Forest, Ill. 

Hepburn, a sophomore German major (European Studies minor), comes in with a grade-point average of 3.85. The Vero Beach, Fla. native and ITA scholar-athlete secured five wins in doubles and landed three wins as a singles participant for the garnet and white this season.

Saul, a repeat member of this squad, owns a GPA of 3.88 as a junior sociology major. A two-time ITA scholar-athlete, the Brooklyn, N.Y. resident pocketed six singles triumphs this spring, while grabbing another two wins at singles. Bella landed a huge 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles in the Bobcats' 4-3 upset win vs. #16 Williams back on Mar. 16.

Westmoreland, an ITA Scholar-Athlete, earns her first All-District® honor as the sophomore politics major achieved a 3.79 GPA. From New Orleans, La., Iris locked down five singles wins for Bates, none bigger than a 7-6, 6-2 triumph at No. 1 singles vs. nationally-ranked Williams. She also pitched in for four wins in doubles play.

The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Tennis Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
