Women's Lacrosse Secures Crucial Conference Victory Over Connecticut College, 18-11

Bobcats Honor Seniors Hall, Joaquin, Mueller, Taggart During Special Pregame Ceremony

LEWISTON, Maine — A balanced scoring effort propelled the Bates College women's lacrosse team to a crucial 18–11 victory over Connecticut College in NESCAC play Saturday afternoon at Garcelon Field. The Bobcats honored senior captains Olivia Hall, Olivia Joaquin, Emily Mueller, and Caroline Taggart during a special Senior Day celebration prior to the opening draw.

Bates led 10–4 at halftime after a fast-paced opening 30 minutes highlighted by six different goal scorers. Connecticut College (6-6, 1-6 NESCAC) pushed back in the second half, scoring seven goals over the final two quarters to narrow the gap. However, the Bobcats maintained control throughout, responding to each Camel run and never seeing its cushion dip below four at any point in the second stanza.

Laci Raveis led Bates with four goals while Lucy Taylor posted six points on three goals and three assists. Taggart added five points (three goals, two assists).  Lauren Wong contributed a hat trick and one helper as the Bobcats move to 7-5 (3-4 NESCAC) on the year.

Raegan White secured the goalkeeping victory with seven saves in 46:01 of action. Molly Urbonas came in for  the final 13:59 in regulation as the first-year recorded four clutch saves for the garnet and white.

Keating proved to be a difference-maker on the defensive end with her team-best three caused turnovers. The Bobcats connected on 8-of-12 free-position attempts while the Camels were successful on only two of their nine efforts.

Bates closes out its regular-season home slate Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. with a showdown scheduled vs. No. 2 Tufts.
