LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College women's lacrosse struggled to find its footing from the outset Wednesday, falling 18–6 to No. 2 Tufts at Garcelon Field.
The undefeated Jumbos (12-0, 7-0 NESCAC) jumped out to a commanding 8-1 first-quarter lead and never looked back, showcasing their offensive depth with eight different goal scorers. Madeline Delaney led the Jumbos with four goals, while Allie Zorn, Margie Carden, and Sophia Claps each recorded hat tricks. Ella Lesperance contributed a game-high four assists as part of a 10-assist day for Tufts.
Bates (7-6, 3-5 NESCAC) was led by
Grace Cassin, who tallied two goals and one assist.

Caroline Keating each added a goal for the Bobcats. Bates goalie
Molly Urbonas (0-3) stood tall in net, finishing with 14 saves on 42 Tufts shots.
The garnet and white now takes to the road for its final two regular-season contests, starting with a visit to No. 10 Amherst this Saturday at noon.
