WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- Senior
Madeleine Kwei birdied the final hole to cap off the weekend, finishing tied for 26th out of 60 competitors to pace the Bates women's golf team at the Williams Spring Invitational, held Saturday and Sunday at Taconic Golf Club.
Kwei (Pasadena, Calif.) finished 19 over par, just four strokes back of a top-10 finish. She tallied three birdies and 19 pars over the course of two days.
As a team, the Bobcats finished in 8th place out of 10 schools, ahead of No. 21 nationally ranked Babson and Trinity.
Two other Bates players finished in the top 50, with first-year
Sarah Wicks (Tampa, Fla.) and sophomore
Mehar Nijjer (Chandigarh, India) finishing tied for 43rd at 24 over par.
The Bates women's golf team is back in action May 2-4 when they head to Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, N.Y. for the NESCAC Championship.
