Six Bobcats Named to College Sports Communicators Men's Soccer Academic All-District® Team

LEWISTON, Maine -- Six Bobcats have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Men's Soccer Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday. Senior Wilson Smith, along with junior Andrew Goddard and sophomores Andrew Jean Baptiste, George Nassar, Zach Perron, and Hewitt Stevenson, have earned recognition on this elite list.

Smith, now a three-time College Sports Communicators Men's Soccer Academic All-District® honoree, earned a 3.80 GPA in the classroom as a Hispanic studies major (mathematics minor).  A native of Seattle, Wash., the forward collected a career-high three goals and eight points in 16 appearances (11 starts) for Bates.  Wilson played 804 total minutes this season. A three-time NESCAC All-Academic selection, Wilson ends his collegiate career with five goals (15 points) in 44 total matches (29 starts).

Goddard possesses a 3.69 GPA as a politics and Africana double major (education minor). Hailing from Enfield, Conn., the team captain saw action in 14 games for the Bobcats, which included 13 starts. Twice selected to the NESCAC All-Academic team, the defender recorded an assist in Bates' season-opening, 3-0 victory back on Sept. 3 vs. Saint. Joseph's (Maine). Goddard calculated 1,031 minutes on the pitch for the garnet and white.

Jean Baptiste, who has yet to declare a major, authored a stellar GPA of 3.96. Appearing in all 16 matches (five starts), the forward from Montvale, N.J. contributed a goal and an assist on the year, which included the first tally in the Bobcats' 2-0 upset win at then-No. 14 Bowdoin back on Sept. 16.

Nassar, a physics major, makes his first appearance on the Academic All-District® Team with a grade-point average of 3.92. The Bobcats' starting goalkeeper made 15 starts between the pipes for Bates, winning seven matches recording a miniscule 0.67 goals-against average. Hailing from Newtonville, Mass., George denied 52 shots (83.9 save%) in 1,340 total minutes.

Perron, majoring in economics, lands on this list with a GPA of 3.68. The midfielder from Flemington, N.J. made 15 appearances (three starts), compiling two assists in 538 overall minutes. Zach provided the helper on the Bobcats' second tally in a 2-0 NESCAC win over Hamilton, Oct. 5.

Stevenson, a 2025 All-NESCAC second team pick, appears on this list with a 3.92 grade-point average as a biology major. The midfielder from Menlo Park, Calif. cracked the Bobcats' lineup this fall, getting the start in all 16 contests. Hewitt collected a goal and two assists over 1,308 total minutes, which included his first career tally in a 4-0 victory vs. the University of New England, Sept. 9.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. 

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
