WATERVILLE, Maine – The Bates College women's volleyball team went toe-to-toe with No. 11 nationally ranked Colby College on Saturday afternoon, pushing the Mules in all three sets before falling 3–0 (26–24, 25–19, 25–21) at the Margaret M. Crook Center.
The Bobcats (9–8, 3–6 NESCAC), currently eighth in the league standings (as of this writing), nearly stole the opening set with a 24-22 lead, but Colby (17–1, 7–1 NESCAC) secured the frame's final four points to take the early edge.
Ami Evans and
Malina Young paced the Bates offense with six kills apiece, while
Kate Norry added five of her own.
Lauren Croom tallied 11 assists and two aces,
Nora Gilmer chipped in 10 assists, and
Ellie Asada topped the squad with 13 digs.
Bates now returns home to host Fisher College this Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in non-conference action. The Bobcats will honor its 2026 senior class prior to first serve.
