MEDFORD, Mass.-- Bates College women's soccer dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 5 Tufts University on Saturday in NESCAC action. The Jumbos, which remain unbeaten, improve to 10-0-1 (6-0-1 NESCAC), while the Bobcats move to 3-4-3 (0-4-2 NESCAC).
Tufts struck first in the 16th minute when first-year Claire Brady put the hosts on the board. The Jumbos extended their lead in the 76th minute on a goal from senior Elsi Aires to make it 2-0.
Bates responded just four minutes later as junior Rachel Suh converted in the 80th minute to cut the deficit in half.
In goal, junior Sydney Litney and first-year Brady Jacobson split time for the Bobcats. Litney recorded six saves, while Jacobson added three in relief.
The Bobcats return to action Wednesday, hosting the University of Southern Maine at 7 p.m. for their final non-conference matchup of the season.
