Baseball's Biggane and Brennan earn Second Team All-State honors from MCBSA

LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates baseball junior outfielder Brandon Biggane and senior captain shortstop Jack Brennan have been named Second Team All-State, as announced Wednesday by the Maine College Baseball & Softball Association.

Biggane (Rensselaer, N.Y.) was the Bobcats' biggest power threat in 2024, hitting a solid .295 while smacking a team-leading six home runs and driving in a team-leading 28 runs. He led the team with a .552 slugging percentage, and finished second on the Bobcats with an impressive .937 OPS. 

Brennan (West Hartford, Conn.) put up the best numbers of his collegiate career this spring, hitting .324, smacking a team-high nine doubles, and walking 23 times while only striking out 22 times. His .465 On-Base Percentage ranked eighth in the NESCAC. Brennan led the Bobcats with 26 runs scored and swiped 15 bases in 19 attempts on the year. He also earned Second Team All-NESCAC honors.

This marked the inaugural season for the Maine College Baseball & Softball Association, a group dedicated to honoring the best-of-the best in the state each week throughout the spring.
