LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College men's soccer celebrated its senior class Saturday as the quintet of
Tife Agunloye,
Rex Ah Chu,
Simon Clarke,
Gerard Costa Farré, and
Henry Kuenstler was honored prior to the Bobcats' home finale vs. #3 Middlebury College.
Once the the contest began, the nationally-ranked Panthers crashed the party. Colin Dugan's (So.-Avon, Conn.) successful penalty kick in the 53rd minute (52:17) proved to be all the road team would need as Middlebury continues its undefeated season, moving to 11-0-3 (6-0-3 NESCAC) on the year.
The Panthers owned a 5-4 advantage in the shot column with a 4-1 surplus on target. Joey Waterman (Jr.-North Andover, Mass.) required a single save to earn the the goalkeeping win for the visitors.
George Nassar collected three denials in 90:00 for the garnet and white.
Bates (6-7-1, 2-6-1 NESCAC) concludes its regular-season this Tuesday as the Bobcats visit Colby College for a 5:00 p.m. conference match.
