NEW LONDON, Conn. -- A trio of second-half tallies netted just 8:53 apart proved to be more than enough for Connecticut College as the Camels collected a 3-0 home victory over Bates College Saturday in NESCAC men's soccer action.
Charlie Miles opened the scoring in the 61st minute (60:16) as the sophomore sent in his first of the year. Gavin Mpiana made it 2-0 Camels just 18 seconds later (60:34) when the sophomore finished a double assist from Marco Perugini and Alessandro Horvath Diano to score his fourth of the season.
Conn. College's third and final score of the match came courtesy of senior Jack Lavorel (assisted by Rye Jaran) at the 69:09 mark. The Camels (7-1-4, 3-1-4 NESCAC) dominated the shot column with a 14-5 advantage, including a 5-1 margin on frame.
Bates (6-6-1, 2-5-1 NESCAC) will now sit idle until next Saturday, Oct. 26 when the garnet and white hosts #3 Middlebury at 2:00 p.m. in the squad's regular-season home finale.
