GORHAM, Maine -- Bates College volleyball recorded its first true road win of the season Wednesday evening as the Bobcats mowed down the University of Southern Maine, 3-0, for an efficient non-conference victory.
The garnet and white coasted to victories of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-13 vs. the Huskies, improving to 9-8 on the year in the process. USM drops to 5-16 with the home loss.
In a contest sporting minimal offensive statistics for Bates,Â
Anaïs Reneaum topped the team with six kills on 13 attacks (.385 hitting percentage).
Ami Evans and
Katie Kortekaas each followed with five kills apiece in the effort.
Skye Higashihara and
Nora Gilmer shared 15 and seven assists, respectively.
Sami Kim collected a team-best 14 digs on the night as the first-year has now reached double-digit dig totals in 15 of 17 matches played.
The Bobcats return home for a crucial NESCAC showdown vs. Bowdoin as the rivals square off at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening in Alumni Gym.
