BIDDEFORD, Maine --
Tife Agunloye and
Lane Foushée recorded the Bobcats' first tallies of the season Tuesday night as Bates College blanked the University of New England, 2-0, in non-conference men's soccer action.
Agunloye, a 2022 second team All-Region selection, netted his first goal on the year in the 18th minute (17:39), sending a
Cesar Hoover feed into the lower right of the frame. Agunloye and Hoover also played a role in the Bobcats' subsequent scoring effort as the duo each earned a helper on Foushée's first-career goal, a boot into the lower left at 76:48.
Bates (1-2), dominated the shots column, 21-2, with a healthy 11-1 margin on frame.
Trevor Hammond continues to shine for the Bobcats as the goalkeeper collected his first collegiate shutout and win, needing only one save during the complete-game performance (90:00).
UNE slides to 1-3-1 with the loss.
The garnet and white now prepares to make its 2023 home debut this Sunday as the Bobcats welcome #2 Williams to Garcelon Field at 11am.
