LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College men's lacrosse, playing its final weekend home tilt of the season, took the opportunity to celebrate its senior class prior to a NESCAC tilt vs. visiting Hamilton College.
The Bobcats honored nine contributors to the program, including:
Reza Badiee (La Jolla, Calif.),
Mick Burden (Kenilworth, Ill.),
Garrett FitzSimons (Garden City, N.Y.),
Malcolm Klingbeil (Powell, Ohio),
Brendan Lough (Oyster Bay, N.Y.),
Navaar Naimie (York, Maine),
Alex Neville (Manchester, N.H.),
Will Schinabeck (Shaker Heights, Ohio), and
Jackson Williams (Cumberland, Maine).
Once the game commenced, it would the Continentals earning a 15-6 victory over Bates as Hamilton evens its overall record at 5-5 (3-4 NESCAC). The Bobcats (1-9) continue to seek their first conference win of the year.
Despite the outcome, a pair of Bates seniors were represented in the scoring column. Klingbeil paced the Bobcats' offense with a hat trick and an assist while Schinabeck also found the back of the net for the garnet and white.
Williams tied for the overall game-high with seven ground balls while successfully winning nine of his 14 face-off attempts.
FitzSimons, starting in frame for the Bobcats and playing the entire first half, pocketed 10 saves in his 30:00 of action.
Seven different players netted goals for the victors, with Will Heher, Justin Pearl, and Tim Sommer recording three goals apiece.
Bates now hits the road Wednesday night for a NESCAC visit to #2 Tufts. Start time is set for 6:00 p.m.
