LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College women's tennis closed out its regular-season schedule with a 6-3 NESCAC home loss to visiting Trinity College Sunday in the Wallach Tennis Center.
The Bobcats finish with a 5-11 (1-9 NESCAC) ledger. The Bantams, still with two conference matches remaining, move to 7-7 (2-6 NESCAC) with the win.
Bates' top tandem,
Joanna Atwater (Sr.-Short Hills, N.J.) and
Ally Friedman (Jr.-East Hampton, N.Y.), pairing collegiately for the final time, proved victorious at No. 1 doubles with an 8-6 defeat of Trinity's Isabella Hartman and Josephine Kimball.
Atwater, also playing at No. 1 in singles action, ended her tenure for the garnet and white with a 6-0, 6-3 win vs. Hartman. Friedman finished her season with a 6-2, 6-1 dismissal of Kimball in the No. 2 position.
