Three Bobcats Honored on College Sports Communicators Women's Tennis Academic All-District® Team

LEWISTON, Maine -- Three Bobcats have been selected to the College Sports Communicators Women's Tennis Academic All-District® Team, announced Tuesday. Captains Grace LaFountain, Isabella Saul, and Iris Westmoreland have each earned recognition on this elite list.

LaFountain, a senior physics and theater technology design double major, comes in with a grade-point average of 3.60. The New Hartford, N.Y. native and two-time ITA scholar-athlete coasted to 6-0, 6-0 No. 6 singles victory for the garnet and white in Bates' 7-0 win at Whittier back on Feb. 20.

Saul, now a three-time selection to this squad, owns a GPA of 3.83 as a senior sociology major. Also a three-time ITA scholar-athlete, the Brooklyn, N.Y. resident secured three singles triumphs this spring, landing victories at Whittier (2/20) and Connecticut College (4/19). She also contributed to the Bobcats' 4-3 NESCAC home win vs. Trinity (3/8) with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 2 slot. Bella also contributed to a pair of wins in doubles competition.

Westmoreland, a two-time ITA Scholar-Athlete, earns her second All-District® honor as the junior politics major achieved a 3.84 GPA. From New Orleans, La., Iris locked down four singles wins for Bates, including standout wins at Caltech (2/19), vs. Vassar (2/28), and at #20 Williams (3/15). Iris also pitched in for three wins in doubles play.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's tennis honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. 

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
