LEWISTON, Maine (Russell Street Track & Field) -- Bates College continues to seek its first victory vs. a NESCAC foe as the Bobcats experienced a 2-0 home setback against Hamilton College Saturday in front of rain-drenched crowd celebrating Back to Bates: Family Weekend.
Goals from Julian Jacobs (Sr.-Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.) and Luke Ehrenfreund (Jr.-Brooklyn, N.Y.) at 31:59 and 76:57, respectively, provided more than enough damage as the Continentals coasted to their fifth win (5-4-2, 2-4-1 NESCAC) on the year. The victors outshot its host by a 16-9 margin (8-3 on goal).
Goalkeeper Kai Haesslein (Sr.-Rye, N.Y.) secured three saves in the complete-game (90:00) shutout for Hamilton.
Trevor Hammond recorded six denials of his own in going the distance for the Bobcats.
Bates (2-7-1, 0-6 NESCAC) looks to end the weekend on a high note as the garnet and white returns to the home pitch Sunday at 3:00 p.m. vs. Wesleyan University.
