LEWISTON, Maine (Garcelon Field) -- Bates College men's soccer recognized the contributions of its senior class Saturday as the trio of
Harry Corman,
Seba Niehenke, and
Rawson Welch was honored prior to the Bobcats' home tilt vs. #9 Connecticut College.
Once the the contest began, the nationally-ranked Camels stepped into the spotlight. Elliot Spatz's (So.-Bellevue, Wash.) goal in the 20th minute proved to be all the road team would need as Conn. College continues its undefeated season, moving to 10-0-4 (5-0-4 NESCAC) on the year.
A Nate Pilson (Jr.-Wilmington, Del.) pass from the left sideline split the Bobcat defense, hitting Spatz in stride, who proceeded to take a single dribble and then deposit a left-footed shot to the bottom left of the opposing frame at 19:41.
The Camels dominated the shot column with an 11-3 advantage (4-1 on target). Corman proved the entire offensive threat for the Bobcats as the senior accounted for all three of the home team's attempts.
Peter Silvester (Jr.-Smiths Parish, Bermuda) required a single save to earn the the goalkeeping win for the Camels.
Trevor Hammond collected three denials in 90:00 for the garnet and white.
Bates (3-10-1, 0-9 NESCAC) concludes its regular-season this Tuesday as the Bobcats welcome Colby College to Russell Street Field for a 3:00 p.m. conference match.
