LEWISTON, Maine -- Bates College, playing the penultimate match on its 2023 regular-season home slate, suffered a 3-0 NESCAC setback vs. visiting Hamilton College as the Continentals coasted to a 25-19, 25-19, 25-22 defeat of the Bobcats in Friday night women's volleyball action.
Kate Carman (Sr.-New York, N.Y.) topped the Hamilton offense with a match-best 14 kills while Summer McClintic (Sr.-Baldwinsville, N.Y.) recorded her fifth double-double of the year with 13 kills and 11 digs. Drew Stimson (Jr.-Belvedere Tiburon, Calif.) also reached double-digits in the kill column with 10 of her own in the triumph.
Rylee Bergeron (So.-Webster, N.Y.) settled 24 digs at the libero position for the Continentals (8-6, 4-3 NESCAC). Melissa Morelli (Sr.-Lynnfield, Mass.) distributed 36 assists.
Ami Evans, the Bobcats' top offensive player this fall, paced the garnet and white with her seven kills and 13 digs.
Sofia Castiglioni and
Katie Kortekaas followed with six and five kills, respectively.
Chrissy Chu dished 21 helpers on the night for the home squad.
The Bobcats close out their regular-season home schedule Saturday afternoon with a 2:00 p.m. visit from Middlebury College. Bates will honor its lone senior,
Alma Mackic, prior to the match.
