Alma Mackic, during a special ceremony.
The visiting Panthers went on to win the NESCAC showdown, defeating the garnet and white with straight-set scores of 25-13, 25-12, 25-20.
Katie Kraczkowsky (Sr.-Chicago, Ill.) put together her third double-double of the year in the win, contributing 11 kills and 10 digs. Molly Harrison (Fy.-Tiburon, Calif.) followed with 10 kills on 23 attempts, finishing with a .348 attack percentage. Gabbie O'Toole (Jr.-Overland Park, Kan.) distributed a match-best 28 assists while Britt Lange (Sr.-Manhattan Beach, Calif.) did the same in the digs column, settling 19 for Middlebury.
Sofia Castiglioni and
Katie Kortekaas led the way for the Bobcats with six kills apiece.
Chrissy Chu reached double-digits in assists for the 16th-straight outing, finishing the day with 19 helpers on the day.
Eden Lorin established a new personal-best as the first-year controlled a team-high 15 digs in the effort.
The action in Alumni Gym may be finished, but the Bobcats still have five contests remaining on the overall slate. Bates next takes the floor on Saturday, Oct. 21 in New London, N.H. for a tri-match vs. Emmanuel College (1:00 p.m.) and host-Colby-Sawyer (3:00 p.m.).
