Lewiston, Maine (Alumni Gymnasium) -Colby College, playing in Alumni Gym for the second-straight day, faced off against host-Bates College Saturday afternoon as the visiting Mules move to 7-1 (2-0 NESCAC) on year after besting the Bobcats, 3-0.
The victors clinched the conference triumph with straight-set wins of 25-16, 25-23, 25-15. The Mules topped Brandeis University, 3-1, a night earlier on the Bobcats' home floor in a neutral site contest vs. the Judges.
Colby's Emma Davis (Fy.-Cranberry Township, Pa.) topped all players with 10 kills in the win. Sydney Sick (Fy.-San Jose, Calif.) authored a double-double consisting of 23 assists and 13 digs.
Katie Kortekaas (So.-Manhattan Beach, Calif.) landed a season-high nine kills in the effort for the the garnet and white.
Emma Eide (Jr.-Ramsey, N.J.) distributed 20 assists for Bates while
Ellie Asada (Fy.-Honolulu, Hawaii) recorded her second-straight 13-dig performance.
Kate Hansen (So.-Menlo Park, Calif.) contributed a match-best five service aces for the Bobcats.
Bates (4-5, 0-3 NESCAC) sits idle until Friday evening when they host Trinity College (7:00 p.m.) for another NESCAC showdown.
