Brunswick, Maine - Bates College opened the NESCAC portion of its women's volleyball schedule Friday night as the Bobcats were iced by the Polar Bears of Bowdoin College, 3-0.
The victors dismissed Bates with scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-21 to collect the conference win, putting Bowdoin at 3-2 (1-0 NESCAC) on the year.
Despite the result, no less than four players secured five or more kills in the effort for the garnet and white.
Alyssa Lowther (Wyckoff, N.J.) and
Julia Neumann (Norwell, Mass.) paced the Bobcats with six kills apiece while
Emma Eide (Ramsey, N.J.) and
Ami Evans (Honolulu, Hawaii) added five each.
Neumann also soared for a game-high four blocks in the effort. Eide added 21 assists and eight digs for the road team.
Ellie Asada (Honolulu, Hawaii) paced all players with her 26 digs.
Emma Patard (Montreal, Quebec) contributed nine digs and four kills.
The Bobcats (3-2, 0-1 NESCAC) will now scurry south to the Nutmeg State as Bates visits Connecticut College (2-1, 0-1 NESCAC) Saturday at 2:00 p.m. for another conference clash.
