New London, Conn. - Playing a fifth-consecutive road contest, and second in about a 17-hour span, Bates College suffered a 3-0 setback at Connecticut College in Saturday's NESCAC women's volleyball action.
The Camels (3-1)Â cruised to the conference triumph with victories of 25-10, 25-23, and 25-19 to earn the home team its first NESCACÂ win of the year. Bates has its ledger evened at 3-3 overall as the Bobcats still seek their first conference win of the young season (0-2 NESCAC).
Highlights for the garnet and white included seven-kill performances for both
Katie Kortekaas (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) and
Alyssa Lowther (Wyckoff, N.J.) while
Julia Neumann (Norwell, Mass.) followed with five of her own.
Emma Eide (Ramsay, N.J.), with 20-or-assists in five of six matches this season, topped all players on this day with 24 helpers.
Three Bobcats reached double-digits in the dig column, including
Ellie Asada (Honolulu, Hawaii) (15),
Ami Evans (Honolulu, Hawaii) (14), and
Chrissy Chu (Old Tappan, N.J.) (11).
The garnet and white close out its marathon stretch of six-straight matches away from home this Tuesday with a visit to the University of Southern Maine (2-7). Start time is set for 7:00 p.m.
