CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Bates men's track and field senior
John Mieszczanski delivered his finest performance as a Bobcat in his final meet, moving onto the Bates Top-10 All-Time Performance List in the 1500 meters Thursday at MIT.
Mieszczanski (Chelmsford, Mass.) made the most of the "Final Qualifying Meet", taking third in the 1500 with his personal record time of 3:55.14. The time moves him into 10th on the Bates All-Time Performance List in the event.
Senior captain
Liam Evans (Sauquoit, N.Y.) and junior
Liam Byrne (Ridgefield, Conn.) also competed for the Bobcats on Thursday. Evans recorded a height of 13-11.75 (4.26m) in the pole vault and Byrne finished second in the hammer with a top throw of 174-7 (53.21m). He competed in three events, finishing third in the javelin at 180-8 (55.07m) and third in the discus at 150-5 (45.84m).
Select Bobcats will compete in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 26-28 in Geneva, Ohio.
